That is realy great, see you next month! 😀

Could you tell me something about the cars that will show up? Or is it just wait and see what comes?

And the event is still on this parkingplace?

The cars vary meet to meet, but you usually get a mix exotics, old school muscle/classics and a mix of new school cars.

And yes its still at that location.

Psycho, you are seriously taking it too personally. Show up, and they may or may not let you in. If they let you in, great. If not, go to spectator parking. You don’t have to worry about your car getting broken in to. If Ferrari and exotic owners feel secure about parking their cars in spectator parking, then you should feel secure as well. You can still talk to other enthusiasts about your car even if your car is not in the show lot. Others do that. As for your camera equipment…get a case or bag, and before each show, decide what you want to use and decide what you’ll leave at home. Alot of photographers do that.

You’re acting like if you can’t get in the lot, you can’t go at all. I’m sorry, but grow up.

As you can see above I dont drive a Ferrari or Old School Hot Rod but its not a junker parking in the lot by any means either. But yet my car along with my fellow enthusiasts that love modern “middle class” performance are getting the boot or having to fight to be there. That’s why im taking it personally. Even if I get in guess what? All the people I talk too, relate too and have things in common with are not being allowed in anymore and being told to go to the spectator side. In the past all the modern performance crowd stuck together, parked together and honestly rarely had to walk far or even cared to go droll over the new exotic that rolled in. If I wanted to see a stock exotic there’s dealerships and automotive shows for that. We were there to “Meet” with each other and talk cars, check out each others mods and have a good time. I don’t go to the show to spectate, I go because I want to attend a car meet and talk to people about the cars I love. If 50 of us are in the spectator lot how exactly am I supposed to strike a conversation about the car they drive walking around? Are you seriously telling me I should go up to ever single person and ask them what they drive and hope they drive the same style of car as me? If I wanted to do that I could go to a bar or heck Walmart for that matter. So yes again me not getting in the main gate or my other enthusiasts not being able to get in does keep me from attending because “I’m not a spectator” I go to the “meet” to “meet” like minded individuals and not stare at droves of cars I could care less about. That’s why there’s a spectator lot (People that don’t drive show/race cars or car to talk hours on end about cars they just want to look and not touch) and the show lot for people like me and many others. Which I think is one of the main issues, us middle class guys usually do our own work to our cars and are generally the most customized cars there by far when it comes to the majority. So we will point, stare, take pictures, ask questions, get instructions, joke and generally discuss cars hours on end with other individuals like us. Again thats what a car meet is about. A car show is what your expecting this to turn into. Park in the spectator lot and look at the pretty cars and go home. Sorry again that’s not what cars and coffee is about and why a huge huge majority of us are taking it personally and so much bad blood is being spilled. The person that goes to look will not have an issue with the change up. The person that wakes up at 6am to get into the main lot so they can park next to there buddies in arms will have an issue with it. Which honestly is how it should be approached. Look in the mirror and ask yourself are you a “Spectator” or a “Car Enthusiasts”. Yes you may drive a Ferrari or any other car for that matter, but did you just buy it because you could and you thought it was a great car or do you go the extra mile, talk to others about your car, mod your car, like helping others with there car and so on. Im sorry but honestly parking your high end car in the show side and walking around for hours not talking to anyone makes you a spectator. You could of easily taken your car to the spectator side and given someone a spot that loves everything about car culture and loves to talk to other individuals. Also it was a general statement not directed at your personally because I dont know your cars for coffee habits. But I do know there’s a lot of people that just park there car and walks off for hours and that’s where the registration part comes in right. If we need you to move your car because we cant find you. If you go to the middle class side of the house and ask hey who owns this car I bet you get a whole lotta people saying heres over there or let me call him. Thats the difference…………

I didn’t read it the way you did. I read it to say that they’ve given up on the passes. They’ll still honor the few they gave out and if you get there before 8:30 they’ll let you in as promised, but it’s otherwise business as usual. I don’t think the ‘doors are closed’ until 8:30 so the liftime pass holders can get in before you.

Thats part of the issue… Nothing is laid out telling us exactly whats going on. This is the first time I have heard business as usual that was just posted and that still begs to differ with the fact is it business as usual 4 months ago or last months turning swarms of cars away business as usual. So ohhh well, is what it is and that said Im offically done with the event. Im gonna pack it up along with the hundreds of other folks and move on to something new.

Thanks for the memories and thanks even go out to the staff, the countless previous events I have been to were great and loved every moment of them. But with two many what if’s and with the already present swarm of cars being turned away that I generally hang out with and like to see being turned away. Its not worth my time anymore.

I think you’re taking it a bit too far, to be honest. Yes, there is still some confusion about the passes, like who will be allowed in before 8:30, and what happens after 8:30. But nowhere did it say “we don’t want you to attend”.

The filtering of modern domestics may make some mad at first, but overall, I think it will make the show improve over time. All they are trying to do is keep the 4th-5th generation Mustangs and 2010 Camaros/Challengers from overrunning the place, and give the show more variety and quality. Some people act like if they can’t park their car in the show lot, they can’t go at all.
    .

Thats just it most of us here, people discussing the issue and also the majority that are upset about it are not spectators. We are the core people of the meet that come there time and time again to talk, park our show cars in a secure lot, talk to others about our cars and enjoy sharing the knowledge and stories we have. If I wanted to spectate there’s shows I can go to everyday of the week. I choose to come to this one in my car so I can be around individuals that enjoy cars and the same passion for them that I have. I can point to my car and say yea man there she is. Come on over and I can show you just what I did there or that mod I put on if I can’t even see my car because its in the spectator lot. I also have piece of mind because I can see my car and know its in good hands when I leave. Ontop of all that I also lug around a good bit of camera gear to take shots at the meet (free media for cars and coffee). Equipment I would rather not leave in a random lot to get stolen or have to visit walking over to it time and time again to get different equipment. All of these factor into the whole we dont want you to attend mindset many of us have. Because if we cant continue to go there and do what we love and show off the passion we have for our cars. Then why should we even attend? Its not the convention center show, its a parking lot for like minded individuals. So in my eyes and many others, if we can not be in the main gate then why bother, im far from a spectator and have invested way to much into it to my car to leave it at home just to go have a peek at a new breed of cars that only fit the tastes of a few individuals making the decissions. I would rather be out enjoying the time in my car and talking to others about it and there rides.

Even per the email below, basically reading if your have a pass your in if not good luck but ohhh hey please come still and donate to our cause we dont want you to attend. Just got this in my email yesterday… Looks like waiting in line to register was just as expected. It was basically just a means to see what cars are showing up. Gotta love being told your registering for one thing and then they pull the plug on the whole deal supossedly, but still allowing the privledged long time friends of cars and coffee a pass and way in. Also still no explaination on what is going on the day of as well. The way it reads if you have a pass you get in before 8:30 if you dont have a pass you block traffic for an hour and half waiting and hoping you can get in. Since nothing was sent out if you can still get in at the normal time. Great way to carry on the confusion and frustration c and c staff.. Bravo….

we are trying to make cars and coffee better—but honestly, I think that it’s a pretty good show as it is. the lifetime pass idea at this point is a very, very small group of longtime cars and coffee friends. a system where this becomes an invite only event, is highly unlikely. when we asked people to fill out the cards, we only received about 150 of them with information.

control is good, but this is not what we do as a career—this event is for fun and it needs to stay that way. we will make it a great show, but the show quality depends on those that bring great cars.

Ok so if im understanding this correctly the green tags were a seperate deal from the lifetime passes. Lifetime passes where only handed out to long time friends, subsuquantly the registration booth that was set up was not for the passes and just used for data gathering? Am I on par?

You shouldn’t word it like that. C&C will never go to an invite-only platform. In my eyes, I think they are just giving other cars a priority by guaranteeing them a spot before 8:30. If my assumption (where lifetime passholders are the only ones allowed in before 8:30, and it’s whatever after that) is true, then the event is still open to anyone.

With the next C&C just under two weeks away, we can expect Eric to release a statement. I won’t be able to attend, but I’m anxious to see what is going to happen. Good luck Eric.

Theoretically the chances of getting in without a pass is going to be pretty bleak… Example say theres 400 spaces available 300 members get a lifetime pass and show up that leaves 100 spaces. Now out of the 500 that used to show up between 7-8, they will now be waiting for 8:30 to hit so they can flood in. Usually by this time the lot is already full anyway and they turn away about 200 or more cars throughout the day so those late arrivals will also be added into the mix. This is going to equal more over crowding on the street, more people cutting others off to try and get in, mroe accidents and so on. Also this is all dependant of the fact that the section you go into isnt already filled by lifetime membership cars. So yes while this is not a 100% invite only platform its pretty much just as bleak as never getting invited back. Also with lifetime memberships they say they wanted varitey, but now its going to be the same old cars sitting there at 8:30 every month time and time again and everyone hoping that the varitey everyone wanted can make it through the crowd and surge of cars after 8:30….

I think the passes from a few weeks ago would of been from the first go round. The Green Tags they handed out were from that go round and then the last event they had us register at a booth. That first go round, I was told to fill out the green tag and put it in my window, but nothing was given to us to fill them out with or any instructions there after. So I paid no mind to it, then a few weeks later I heard they were for the passes. Then there was the second go round, at which point they let me in again and I registered at the booth with all my info but no word yet. The people I hear are getting or have gotten passes could just be delayed first round passes. Just checking in to see what the word is on it. I was told we would be getting emails with information, but nothing has been sent out yet.

Well said, Psycho30. Some of the cars I saw there with a lifetime pass, I personally would not have issued to them. I’d much rather see a clean new BOSS 302 or a new Challenger SRT with an old school Shaker hood on it than a 355 Spider desperately in need of a polish and wax. Based on what I saw, there has to be an element of who you know instead of just what you drive.

Like I said before, variety is the key.

    Thanks and Im with you…

Also there’s even been cars I have never been a fan of but seeing them in person and with modifications I have turned my outlook around. Thats the melting pot aspect I loved about cars and coffee. In the end im a car lover so I appreciate anything but do understand not any car should be allowed in. And thats where the huge misscommunication has coming from. People are not waning stock cars in but vintage and exotics that are stock are allowed in. Then its “Rice” is not allowed in which turned into anything that is the majority shouldnt be allowed in. Then you turn away a stockish looking porsche but allow in a few stock mustangs or turn away cars with thousands under the hood and so on. Its just so pick and choose, in the end no one knows who can show up and who can not. Even cars that cars and coffee wants in meet are seconding guessing themselves over this and saying its not worth the time.

Its exactly that… pick and choose on one side but, on the otherside of the house they don’t even know what to look for in a car to pick and choose. So its just a mess with a ton of upset people.

    Shrugs..

If anyone is listening, what are you looking for and what is the game plan? You asked for opinions, but your already rolling out how its going to be here on out… So why even ask us for opinions and have us argue amongst ourselves?

Kevin, Thank you for the retraction of your statement and the props on my photos. Didn’t want to get inbetween the two of yall but we “being the Dodge/Chrysler folks” are under fire as well.

Also after going to the last event and seeing it was a ghost town due to everything that has taken place, with so many open spots and baron lanes. It just wasn’t the cars and coffee I loved going too. A lot of people getting turned away and many more vowing to never come back because of the issues and changes is not the way to win people over. I truly cant see it benefiting anyone like this. Less cars, less people and an over all mindset that the place we all once loved is discrminating against car makes. During the registration process nothing was asked about modifications or what your car even looked like. It was Name. Email, Club and Make only with a smile we will let you know if you will be invited back. I dont get how this is going to work for anything thats not an exotic or even how its going to be benefical. Example ten stock/none show car owners register and win the golden ticket that leaves 10 full on show cars out in the cold with them showcasing exactly what its is there trying to avoid. So it just doesnt make since what exactly it is there looking for. We are all in this together and I dont see this going in the right direction rather your a exotic owner or a mustang owner. Because plenty of exotics got turned away as well last month…

So honestly in the end we should be fighting for one another instead of against one another.

I can answer that question for ya… Yes they do look customized and quite a few are highly customized! Rims, suspension, under the hood, interior, paint and performance. All things you can find easily done to our cars.

That’s the issue at hand, people that don’t drive the cars don’t know the cars or even care to look at them. The picture you posted says it all. See look 12 bumper shots there all stock, see I told ya! Shakes head, heck look at the front of the cars in the picture and you will notice almost all of there hoods are up. There up for a reason.

Shots taken at cars and coffee…. I have hundreds more if you need further verification. And if you notice we are all individually unique, different mods, styles and colors.. Far from cookie cutters..

I just wonder if the fact this is a charity event has even been taken into account. Take out the cars and it boils down to it being we are happy all of you came down to support a great charity, to we dont want you here because we want more varity and a higher end car. Its mostly the early birds and average joes that are hitting up the coffee and donation booths. Not the guy that came in later that has already gotten his coffee and breakfast. So im a little confused on where that aspect comes into play. It was us commoners that braved the weather on the Toys for Tots event. But yet we and the charity supporters get the boot! Good to know that the welfare of this is being well looked after, when I all hear is I want more lambo’s not how can we bring in more donations to a great cause.
