I’ve been going to car shows for 40 years, C&C is great but I’ve never seen a show where so many hoods are closed. Why only show half the car?

Because people like to take photos of the cars with the hood down. It looks much better, if your trying to get a good shot of the car. I was going to say the opposite, more hoods should be closed so I can get better shots.

I think both ways are ok. Some times there are a breath taking tuned engines that worth the pic, and some times it´s better to make the shot of the complete car, like a lambo or a ferrari.

I thinks it´s up to the car owners to open or keep the hood down, anyways I love the C&C events.

    Cheers!

    Curt, sorry for asking but:

What is the technique to make such a great engine shots?, I mean to have some engine elements so well taken in foreground and the rest of the frame in background kind of blured. I am a newbie on the photography and I only know how to take pics with a point&shot camera.

    Thanks!!

As far as my baby…Ain’t nothin special under the hood.. it’s stock.. I keep it clean, but no chrome or special intake, so nobody would be snapping pictures anyway

the guys that have customized the engine and spend a lot of time detailing the engine will popping the hood before they park 😎
