This is my first time at C&C Irvine. I took some photos but I’m far from being a pro so please foregive the amateurish composition. I’ll try to do better next time.

    Here are my photos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/36653239@N08/

    Here’s a couple of samples:

Oh is that you? Holy Cow! It’s a beautiful car. One of the best out there. I’d love to hear it purr next time.

Anytime – that’s the best part! Although it’s really more of a growl than a purr…thumbup

Hey Doug, I figure it would not only growl but it’s going to sound really bad-ass! I love the sound of a lumpy pushrod V8. Are the side pipes fully functional? I was trolling on the Superformance website and noticed there is an option to run the REAL exhaust all the way back.

What I noticed in these type of car shows/gatherings is that the louder and meaner the car sounds, the more attention it gets. Up to a point of course but you know what I mean. There are some really great cars there, like the Z06’s, Porsche GT2’s & 3’s, the Ferraris and Lambo’s, but most of them are pretty quiet. Anyway, when one of the louder cars pulls up it gets everyone looking. I have an exhaust on my Corvette but it is very mellow and quiet at idle. In the company of the cars at C&C, it is as quiet as stock.

Yes – I have open, functional sidepipes on my car. The bends that the rear exit exhaust has to make restricts the flow too much and causes excess back pressure and heat in the engine compartment. You can tell a coupe with rear exaust because it has a really bad popping sound when you let off the throttle (the engine trying to breathe through the backpressure). I don’t like to torture everyone like the guy in the mint green mustang by cruising through the parking lot revving my engine, but I ususally do a “flyby” on the freeway on my way in by winding it out in 3rd. the only problem is getting it slowed in time to make the curve on the Alton exit ramp… Good thing this car is light and has good breaks!!!

There were some really nice Vettes there this week as well. Which one is yours?

Understand about the backfiring. That sounds bad and probably not good to your motor. But Gosh! Those sidepipes are just awesome! I have a 1991 Corvette that I parked way out front. The only thing that gets it noticed is the bright Turqouise Metallic paint. Very Miami Beach. lololol But it’s clean and shiny in the right places, plus it’s not a daily driver….good enough to park in the Exhibitor’s Area. The car is nearly completely stock with low miles. I got it from a little old lady from Huntington Beach! I had plans to put the whole host of bolt on mods for Chevy Small Block (intake/headers/cam/etc) but I put that on hold until I feel a bit better about this economy. I silently wish it was a C6 ZR1 but you know…..for now I get my ultimate speed kicks on my sportbike. It’s way cheaper and way faster (and way more dangerous and exciting). C&C at least get’s me closer to all my dream cars. Next time you’re there, look for that unique colored older ‘Vette (probably the only one in existance in OC). That would be mine.

    Hello C&C mates,

Well, here are some of the pics I toke, sorry for the angles or composition, but I´m amateur on photography and just have a humble sony cybershot, he he.

Hope you like it, and I´ll be attending as many C&C shows as I could. GREAT SHOW!!! drivesmile
