GuestAnyone miss these posts much?
Sorry I hadn’t been able to make these Cars and Coffee posts in a while. I haven’t stopped going but just hadn’t had the time to make these posts. Finals, Graduation, the gf, broken car, and broken computer had all gotten in the way. Good news is that I got an A in my Beer&Culture class and a B in my Portfolio Management class. I’ll try to catch you guys up in the next few weeks on what has been missed.
Now back to your regularly scheduled Cars and Coffee post:
As I was rushing to get ready to head to C&C, after another long night at work, I grabbed my Rhys Millen Racing t-shirt and was about to put it on but decided at the last minute to wear another shirt. Low and behold as I walk into the C&C lot one of the first things to catch my eye was the Rhys Millen Racing Hyundai powered Pikes Peak racer. Standing near the car was Rhys Millen, talk about a missed opportunity! What a great guy Rhys Millen is too, stood there and chatted with him for a bit along with my friend Frank who was trying to get him to run his companies brakes on the car. You don’t get the chance to talk to people of this caliber in many other places other than C&C. Other car world celebrities in attendance included Berry Meguiar, Reeves Callaway and the Shelby Cobra 427 from the original “Gumball Rally.”
Other notables in attendance where a 1930’s era Hupmobile, a very cool custom Trophy Truck, a matching pair of old and new Shelby GT500’s, a Mini Moke and a Porsche Junior tractor towed by a Porsche Cayenne.
The weather was truly great and the crowd was huge on this 4th of July weekend edition of C&C.
I hope you guys enjoy the picks of the pics:
