Here is your much awaited weekly installment of cars and coffee pics.
It was invaded by Mini’s, Porsche’s and uninvited Corvette’s but there where still some nice cars there.
Enjoy and as always feel free to re-post these pics in your favorite forum.

I didn’t see a sign out front that said “members only”. Where’s your invitation, Mr. Pompous Mustang boy? What the real problem? Did they take your favorite parking spot? A group of car enthusiasts got up at an early hour to meet with people who share their love of cars, and your first impulse is to dump on them.
It’s people like you that spoil the experience for everyone. Age old advice, at a public gathering keep your negative opinions to yourself.

What makes you think I own a Mustang? Second they were uninvited by the fact that they did not let the organizers know that they were having a club gathering at this event. The organizers prefer that notification is given in advance of a club gathering so that accommodations can be made. If you looked around there was a sign for the mini area and a sign for the Porsche club are. However, the Corvette guys chose to ambush the event.
I have nothing against Corvettes as i dream of buying a new one someday. However, if the Corvettes or any other car club for that matter wishes to have a meet at this event please notify one of the organizers before hand so that your club can be properly accommodated. Neither I nor the organizers want the limited space to be taken over by a few car clubs all deciding to converge on the same weekend. This is not only good for the vareity of the show, but good for you guys so that you may all be grouped together and not have your group broken up.
Thanks,
-Leo

I drove up in a Vette and chose to park with the other Vettes. I’m no club member and was not part of any conspiracy to invade. The day I need an invitation is the day I stop going. BTW, fulfill your dream and maybe you won’t have such issues.

You seem to have an infatuation with horses?
Second what “club” invaded? Third, if the organizers have a problem, let them voice it! Who asked you for your opinion? As I understand it, Cars and Coffee is an open event. Corvettes are one of the most popular sports cars in the US today. Yet, they belong in the same parking lot with all the European sports cars. A large turnout of America’s most popular sports car at an open public event should not be a surprise anyone. Are you suggesting quotas? Your post says you have 300 pictures, how many of them are corvettes? I get the feeling there was enough variety.
But this is America, and you are entitled to your opinion. But then again, so is everyone else.hellosmile

August 10, 2009 at 8:38 pm #131772AnonymousGuestWe have been around this one a bunch of times.
Usually it ends up with name calling, free speech, erm speeches, then nastiness and bans.
In the past the event has been invaded by BMW’s, Porsches, MINI’s, Pontiacs, Hondas and all sort of other single make/model clubs. Usually this is great for the club, but boring as hell for most everyone else.
Given the relatively limited parking available it is not really very polite to turn up with a large group cars unannounced and to take over a significant percentage of the lot.
Hence if anyone wants to organize a meet-up at the event, simply attend the event beforehand and talk with John and Linda at the entrance and they will do all that they can to accommodate your request.
here is a a great example of an unofficial / unapproved gathering

They are really happy and excited that they took up an entire row !
Personally I looked at the row and my absolute first thought was ‘meh’.
Sure it was nice for them the first time and probably the second time, but, really they are not that interesting to the majority.
Had they turned up rocking the drift car and maybe a couple of seriously modified ones, then great, (and taken up 2-3 spaces) but they all looked ‘close to stock’ the sort of line-up that is at any Pontiac dealer that cannot sell them.
I am not dissing the cars, more questioning that they are not perhaps the sort of cars that Cars and Coffee has become famous for. Especially not a line up of 18 of them taking up a whole row ?

I took pics mainly of the old Vette’s. I can pretty much drive around anywhere and see a newer vette. If you notice I tend to ignore newer Ferrari’s and Lambo’s too, unless they have something unique done to them or they are a unique model. I have never parked my car on the lot since I don’t feel that it is special enough and would much rather a unique classic car take up the spot or something else you won’t find at your local mall.
But that is my opinion after-all and it does not represent the opinion of the organizers.
BTW it was nice seeing those Grand Sports there. thumbup

August 12, 2009 at 2:17 am #131802AnonymousInactiveWow, youre an idiot SVT and the other tard. There arent any vette clubs that show, just friends hanging out. This is a public event. Dont like looking at vettes? Move to South America or something, GTFO. If you dont run the evnt, shut your mouth. As for wanting to buy a new vette someday SVT? Start by getting a real job other than selling halfass amatuer photos. Ive seen better photos in ID’s in Mcarthur park. BTW, what are you driving?

That little bolded remark just makes you look as more of an idiot than I.
I do have a real job, as I stated in my replies on the corvette forum from which you came I do not take pictures for any sort of profit. It isn’t a money making venture. If you don’t like the pictures, that’s your opinion and you are entitled to it.
I do love how the Corvette forum mods found it necessary to erase all my post, except for the pictures of Vette’s I posted, yet they found it appropriate to leave behind all the slander post against me.
Also, if you notice…I am nowhere a newb at the Corvette forums…
