Correct. Local informal gathering, without centralized ‘management’. Fortunately now hosted (tolerated too) by Ford, Mazda, Taco Bell property owners/management. When formerly at Crystal Cove and issues arose (ostensibly owing to complaints uphill) Irvine Co. was most frustrated in our meetings, as they had no one ‘official’ to deal with or negotiate.
Hosts for this ‘non-event’ are now very generous and all attendees should help them in every way possible–police your own (and other’s) stuff, keep the noise down–no burnouts, and bring the most interesting cars possible for the main lot.
Please understand, and use the parking structure, if requested or if bringing your ‘regular’ car. Best for all, as long as it may possibly last. See you there!

I would like to know more about the history of C&C and my search of this forum didn’t turn up anything, did I miss it? Here are some tidbits that I found while searching beyond the forum:

Short Documentary on Youtube

OC Register – “Saturday a sad day for O.C. car guys” (Oct 17, 2006)
OC Register – “Discontinued Crystal Cove car show co-founder reflects on the event” (Oct 19, 2006)

While at Crystal Cove, it was informally known as the “Crystal Cove Car Show” as well as “Croissant Derelicts” if you want to search the net.

2009 notice regarding the turnout and overflow of the Irvine location

I’m tempted to create my first Wikipedia article to encourage others to contribute.

To be continued, hopefully…
