There was a large turnout — nice day so lots of top down cars. A handful of really nice hot rods, a few big 60’s things, and a LOT of import sport cars.

mrmis350, could you be the owner of the Volvo P1800 that I chatted with just as you put a tripod in the boot? In any case, thank you very much for the opportunity to see the “Small sample”.

Hi Jon, that was not me. I own the red Lexus 🙂
I love taking pics of events!
Not very good at it, but I try 😉
I really liked going to this event and hope to make future ones now that the weather is nicer.
Hopefully some tri-pod wielding fellow can impart on me some tips and tricks on how to best take an awesome looking pic.

You claim to be “not very good at it”, I disagree. I saw one tri-pod dude with what appeared to be a professional movie camera there. He seemed very enamored of the old Ford (I think). I plan to be there each first Saturday until the snow flies again.

By the way, my S2000 is in the middle of the last row of page 2 of the thumbnails.

    Regards,
    Jon

I wonder if it was part of a documentary. I may follow suit and look into getting a tri-pod also, help me stabilize my shots.

Your S2000 looks very nice and clean and happy to be among fellow S2000s. Not sure how you all managed to bunch up in that little spot but I like to think they were talking about the good driving weather we were having.

I got there just before 9:00 or so, drove all the way to the west end, found a place to park, behind the C320 BMW. Got out of the car and the other S2000’s just appeared out of nowhere.

I have an old SLIK tripod that I use when photographing my paintings. It is about 4 ft high when the legs are fully extended, about 18 inches or so collapsed. I got it a Mike’s camera in Boulder.

What a pleasure it is to see pics of what I call “normal enthusiast cars”. You know what I mean, cars that I could actually afford some day. It really gets old to me seeing rows of cars that cost way more than my house. Good job and excellent photos.

That’s exactly why I like this First Saturday meet. Of course, the dozen Ferraris, a handful of other Italian exotics, and a Corvette Race car were exceptional, but all in all, there were a lot of affordable things there.
